FEBRUARY
MONTHLY NEWSLETTER

This month marks the one-year anniversary of The Ember Collective, which houses hOMe yoga.
I am thrilled to see the firehouse flourish and grow as a community. One of the things we truly cherish is our community and the vibrant energy you all bring to our space.
Over the past year, we have collaborated and hosted a variety of classes, and we will continue to venture out and explore new possibilities.
My Favorite Yoga Wear: Ethical, Comfortable & Playful
This month, I am excited to share some of my favorite picks for yoga wear and props.
Becky Patel is my favorite designer for Iyengar yoga shorts. Her shorts are beautifully made and incredibly soft.
She creates clothes for real people in an ethical way, with a playful attitude. Check out her page, AME on Etsy.

The Best Wooden Props for Your Yoga Practice

Pine Tree Props is my go-to for all the wooden props I have purchased.
I know some of you are interested in investing in wooden props, and I cannot recommend Pine Tree enough.

Bolsters, Blankets, Blocks, and Straps: Essentials for a Supportive Practice and our online Tejas classes
As many of you know, I am particular about the bolsters we use. Here is where hOMe yoga purchases its bolsters, and I have also added a link for blankets, Yoga straps, and blocks.

The Story Behind The Ember Collective & hOMe Yoga
Now, let me share my own little story. Joe and I purchased the firehouse during the COVID pandemic for our business, Cargo Solutions USA. When we bought the firehouse, it needed to be completely renovated, so I gave it an industrial vibe.

After COVID, I needed a place to teach yoga since I had been renting space before the pandemic.
With some convincing, I got Joe and the team on board to allow me to teach a few classes a week in the warehouse.
Cargo Solutions quickly outgrew the firehouse and moved a few blocks away, leaving me wondering what to do with the property.
During my daughter-in-law’s baby shower, I saw how the space was utilized, and that inspired the idea for The Ember Collective.
The best part? hOMe yoga can flow seamlessly throughout the space, using any room as needed.

The Ember Collective is much more than just an event and conference space; we also offer smaller conference rooms and virtual offices, all while hosting hOMe yoga.
The concept is that the fire keeps burning in the firehouse, representing various things as embers. I transformed the space with a mini facelift to give it a mid-century vibe that complements the building’s design.

As a community, The Ember Collective thrives, and having a space for hOMe yoga has been a dream come true for me.
Yoga is one of my favorite passions, and I love sharing it with others.
I named my business hOMe yoga because it started in my house, and I chose to keep the name because yoga has brought me home to myself.
A Valentine’s Gift for Your Well-being
As a little Valentine’s gift from me, I have included an immune sequence below. With so many flu and cold viruses floating around, I thought the best gift I could give would be an immune sequence to help you all stay healthy.
Plus, I’m excited to offer special pop-up classes on February 2nd and 16th! These are a great opportunity to connect and practice together.
I’d love to see you there.

Happy Valentines
Michelle
